About

Built to find you solutions.

Harpy Strategy is a founder-led, multilingual strategic communications firm built around a simple idea: understand the challenge deeply, bring the right people together, and create strategy that moves the work forward.

Seattle-based. Panamanian roots. Global perspective.

Why Harpy

Harpy Strategy takes its name from the Harpy Eagle, Panama’s national bird and one of the most powerful eagles in the world.

Known for its ability to see across vast landscapes while focusing with precision, the Harpy represents how we approach communications: understand the full environment, identify what matters most, and act with purpose.

Our Panamanian roots also shape how we think about connection. Panama has long served as a bridge between people, cultures, and ideas. That same perspective informs the way Harpy approaches strategy today.

Experience built inside complex organizations

Harpy is intentionally built as a boutique firm. Every engagement receives direct senior-level strategic leadership.

Harpy's approach is shaped by work inside government, public health, public policy, politics, utilities, community partnerships, executive communications, and public-facing campaigns; experience that taught us how strategy actually has to work inside organizations, not just look good in a presentation.

That gives clients the attention and flexibility of a smaller agency with access to a broader range of capabilities.

Meet Alexander

Chief Executive Officer + Founder

Alexander González, MA, MS, MBA, is a strategist and communications leader whose career has centered on helping complex organizations communicate clearly, build trust, and move important work forward.

His experience spans government, public affairs, public health, utilities, community partnerships, politics, philanthropy, and multilingual media. Working inside large public institutions has given him firsthand experience navigating the realities behind communications, the people, systems, competing priorities, and community expectations that shape whether a strategy actually works.

Originally from Panamá and now based in Seattle, Alexander brings a cross-cultural perspective to his work and a particular understanding of how language, culture, and trust influence the way people receive information.

At Harpy, Alexander leads strategy and works directly with clients throughout each engagement, bringing in specialized partners when the work calls for additional expertise.

Strategy across languages and cultures.

Harpy does not treat multilingual communications as a translation exercise.

People do not experience messages as words on a page. Culture, trust, community relationships, media habits, and context all shape what people hear, believe, and do.

We build strategy with those realities in mind. That means developing messaging, campaigns, media partnerships, and communications that make sense to the people you need to reach, not just the people writing the copy.

What We Believe

  • Clarity over complexity: Complex problems don’t need complicated communications.

  • People before channels: We start with who needs to understand, trust, or act, not with where we’re going to post.

  • Strategy should lead to action: A strategy is only useful if your organization can actually put it to work.
